Ok, this list is terrible. They left off even one Star Trek movie (Wrath of Kahn? Voyage Home? First Contact? All very, very good films), Galaxy Quest (the best sci-fi comedy in many years), Starman, Deep Impact....
You really must see The Day The World Stood Still. It's such a classic, and you've probably already seen big parts of it, because other films often use clips. The original King Kong (cutting edge for it's day), and Iron Giant, which is a very good film.
2001 bored you? Whatever.... ! ;-)
