What has become of Darth Vader?

For one he's taken to running around the UK, in a trash bag cape hitting people with metal canes. A trash bag cape? Seriously? I'm not even sure that I can go for a Jedi church. I can see how the principles of the Jedi can be useful in real life especially in this situation. There were two against one. They must have felt pity for Darth and decided not to attack. Instead they made Darth Vader pay a paltry fine.

"There will be no one to stop us this time!"

The jokes practically write themselves on this one. This is the worst debacle since The Star Wars kid. The Yahoo article says there is video. I hunted around YouTube and found something. I don't know if it's the real thing mainly because what I found were guys that were actually kinda good at saber (pole) fighting. They were thin and kinda cute. Those guys are NOT Star Wars fans. :D

Happy Life Day

Oh, oh... We are excited, aren't we?
Well, just relax. Just relax. Yes, a little more.
Now, we can have a good time, can't we?
I'll tell you a secret, I find you
adorable.

I don't need to ask how you find me.
You see, I am your fantasy. I am your
experience. So experience me. I am your
pleasure. Enjoy me. This is our moment
together in time that we might turn this
moment into an eternity.

That's a little too creepy for a children's holiday special but it's "adorable".

Darth Vader Wii for $15K

Engadget reported that Technabob reported that some guy is selling a Darth Vader Wii on eBay for $15000. :)

Dude claims:
Originally designed and built to promote the release of LucasArts "Unleash the Force" game, on the Wii in Spring 2008. Only 4 of these were produced. I have 2, and will be selling this one to one lucky buyer before Christmas.
... it even includes"2 Black Nunchuk".

Note that the guy doesn't show an actual picture of the unit. He says it was used in a The Force Unleashed promo deal. I'm surprised the guy didn't say the thing had actual George Lucas epithelium on it. The upcoming Force Unleashed game is girlie squeal-able but this guy is crazy. If someone actually bids on this, I will personally hunt them down and smack them.

You Can Write for George Lucas

All you fanatics out there that think you know Star Wars better than George Lucas will have a chance to pitch ideas to the man himself. He is meeting with writers to start working on the Star Wars TV show. I think it is very good that he's not going to do the writing himself. The man needs a break.

He's going to hold a lock-in sleepover at Skywalk Ranch. You will get to paint each others toes nails, gossip about Anakin's butt, have pillow fights and possibly come up with the most anticipated TV show in years! No pressure.

zOMG!!! Wii Enable Lightsaber!!!

The world is being blessed with a WiiSaber. I heard about this news on CNet's Buzz Out Loud Podcast #564. I was on my work commute and almost needed to pull the car over to jump for joy. Since I was on the freeway, I decided it was a good idea to stay in my car. I settled for screaming and giggling at the steering wheel while people in the cars next to me gave me looks.

I've been feeling blue lately. I determined that I need something to stand in line for again. Star Wars movies aren't being produced anymore. Lord of the Rings is over. The iPhone just didn't do it for me. George Lucas must have felt this disturbance in the Force and thought to himself, "SciFi Ranter Girl just isn't "GIRLIE SQUEALING TM" like she used to. Let me approve a Wii- enabled Lightsaber. I know this will make her day."

!!!!GIRLIE SQUEAL!!!!
Thank you Uncle George!!! I can't wait to take off work and stand in line for this. Who's with me?

Lightsabers In Space: NASA Does Something Right

NASA Shuttle to Launch Luke's Lightsaber
August 27, 2007 — When the space shuttle Discovery launches the STS-120 crew in October, the force will be with them.

Stowed on-board the orbiter, in addition to a new module for the international space station, will be the original prop lightsaber used by actor Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker in the 1983 movie "Star Wars, Episode VI: Return of the Jedi". The laser-like weapon is being flown to the orbiting outpost and back in honor of the 30th anniversary of the George Lucas-created franchise.

Click here for pictures from the Houston arrival of Luke's lightsaber and its departure for the space center.

Before it can make its trip to orbit though, the lightsaber will first fly to Houston, Texas, home of NASA's Johnson Space Center, by way of Southwest Airlines and a Star Wars-studded send off from Oakland International Airport in California on Tuesday.
This is a bit of cute news. Somehow, I think that NASA should be worrying about bigger things than bringing lightsabers aboard but this *is* a fun thing to do. It seems that someone in the government REALLY loves Star Wars. I remember last year they sent Star Wars action figures up into space. This year we got special stamps and now *the* lightsaber is taking a trip. Star Trek gets no such love. Poor Scotty can't even get his ashes released into space.

Playing Star Wars Galaxies

I know I'm late to the game but I decided to start playing Star Wars Galaxies. I'm using the 14- day trial. I'm on the Chilstra server and my name is Caboi Idon. I just got out of the training sim. I'm still roaming around the newbie area, I forgot the name of the area. I'm on a mission to make meat jerky.... but I have to kill the animal to do it. I'm already lost and I've been shot at. Fun!

More updates soon.

US Postal Service Loves Us

Last year we got comic book hero stamps. This year it's Star Wars. Next year it better be Star Trek :)
...and have you seen their website lately??? They have it all tricked out with Star Wars and big Fett is on the front page!!! They also have a specialty site set up for it.
http://www.uspsjedimaster.com

The stamps will be available May 25th. As everyone knows, they'll have a limited number of mail boxes decorated to look like R2D2. I think this is the coolest thing that the goverment has done in a long time. Seriously, it's practically hip.

While I was casting my vote on my favorite Star Wars stamp, I just noticed that they are raising the price of stamps to 41 cents!!!!! WTF????
