Re-Make Fatigue: Another Dune Movie?

NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I want something NEW!!!! I am SO sick of re-makes!!!! I want this to remain a rumor. The original movie still holds up and the SciFi Channel did an amazing job with it. That's it! give it 15 more years please.

I vote no for a Dune re-make. The only reason I say no is because what else can they do with it? Are they going to re-tell or re-imagine the story again?

so who is insane enough to try this again, maybe if we corner them we can convince them to not do it. In a not so nice way that is.

I hope they leave it be. I'm just not motivated to see another Dune movie.

I didn't really like Dune. But still, why remake it? Why all the remakes? Do they have no imagination in Hollywood?!?

There are so many good books that haven't been made into a movie ONCE. We don't need a third Dune. Give another book a chance.

True there are a lot of good books that have yet to be made in to movies. But those same books I wouldn't want to be made into movies, because the movie would gut the story that is being told in the book, on the bases of getting a film to fit with in a 2 hour movie. Or they would focus so much on the special effect that the story would get thrown out the window and forgotten.

Ditto Cat!
Also who in the world wants to see another Michael Myers Halloween movie? I totally agree that there are more books that should be converted into movies. Is it because they don't have to pay fees to the authors? In that case, I'm sure there are worthy stories out there by newer authors grateful for the opportunity. Mansquito and most of the movies shown on sci-fi lately may be examples of what not to print..er..make into a movie.

I believe that the Halloween movie is a re-imagining of the story. And a suckie re-imaging of it as well. I think that Rob Zombie should get out of doing movies.
as for sci-fi I think that short stories translate better than books do.

I liked Rob Zombies House of 1000 Corpses. I'm not jumping for joy over Halloween. I agree with short stories translating better than books. I think that is so because there is less material to process therefore less material to toss out.
