Is that really saying much? Yes, actually.
Truthfully, I only watched this movie because Matthew Atherton aka Feedback from Who Wants to be a Superhero was in the movie. Later, I found out that the steamy Michael Shanks was going to be in the movie. *drools*
Megasnake is a standard creature feature. There was a snake in Native American lore that if released and fed, he would grow into a huge beast of a snake and go on a killing spree. This movie takes place in Tennessee... British Columbia. I'm from the south and those accents were awful. Ignoring that, the movie had it's wit and the cast actually had chemistry. Surprisingly, I was actually impressed with the animation of the snake and how it fit into the scenes. There was hardly any green screen bleed. To be honest, I didn't notice any.
If you saw the commercial for Megasnake with Feedback, you saw his whole appearance in the movie. That was really disappointing and I think he was robbed. They could have really made a big deal out of a movie starring Feedback and brought back some of the other superheroes. It would have been really great, cheesy fun. Someone really dropped the ball.
All in all, not the ultimate way to spend a Saturday but if you have some time to kill it's worth a watch.

Sadly, this is the norm for a SciFi Original. They aren't meant to knock your socks off and should be watched while drinking and playing poker. :D
I suspect the Feedback scene was added later as a way of fulfilling the promise of that Superheroes show. There was no indication before recently that there was going to be Feedback in the movie. That's probably why you get one scene of him. In fact, I think the movie was made before there was a resolution to the competition. Saying that he was in the movie took most of us who have been waiting for this movie to come out by surprise.
*blinks*
The hope of getting Michael Shanks out of his shirt is makes the blood boil but there were people actually anticipating this movie?
I got burned out on The Sci-Fi Channel a while back and haven't paid attention to their original programming, so I missed this. How long was Michael Shanks in it? I'd watch it to see him, if it's worth it.
Michael Shanks was the main star in the movie. He was in all the major scenes.
I can't agree with the better than Mansquito comment. Mansquito is a work of art, it's the equivalent of Casablanca... I will grant that the movie is enjoyable but "better than Mansquito" is just a bit to extreme of a label...
